'go where the energy is' was a phrase used a few times at the Roadshow- and ive got to say that there was a lot of energy expressed allbeit I cringed a bit at the term. There's a real passion around. The insight for me was about how co-production can be developed as a mindset and skills set of professionals and how volunteering (in all its forms) is the mindset and language for engagement.

Hi,

Great to see 11 members now in the Scotland group!  Welcome everybody!!

I am sure most of us will not have much time to devote to this network but it would be good to get as much benefit from it as possible.

As I am unlikely to get to any co-production events for the foreseeable future, one benefit I would appreciate is to get a very brief report from any conference or event which a member has attended, e.g.I'd love to hear how the Co-production Roadshow at the Scottish Parliament event went this week.

But, it would be good to hear what others would like to achieve by being part of the network, if anything!

Kind regards,

Kate

Hi fellow co-production Scotland members,

I am the Policy and Development Worker for Local Area Co-ordination (LAC) in Scotland. The LAC approach is an excellent example of co-production in practice. There are over 85 LACs working in Scotland at the moment and they help disabled people to live independent lives by building individual and community capacity. If you would like to know more about LAC and co-production please get in touch! My email address is angela.h@scld.co.uk (t: 0141 561 8754) or you could have a  look at our website http://www.scld.org.uk/local-area-co-ordination

I have attended three conferences this week. Co-prodiction on Monday, a Trellis community and allotment gardens on Tuesday and the Glasgow Clyde Valley Green network on Wednesday. Essentially these are all inextricably linked. We need to get better at making the connections between all the available energies and be careful not to get lost in the language we use to articulate co-production and community control of our open spaces. I am working on an MSc research project on co-production to establish a sustainable civic pride campaign and achieve realistic environmental SOA indicators and outcomes. I would like to discuss to see what the consensus is as part of this research. Kindest Regards  Keith
