Just introducing myself to the group ...

My name is Andrew and my wife Joanna and I own Home Instead Senior Care in Edinburgh.  We're an independent care provider offering companionship based support to mainly older people in the Edinburgh area.  As well as the services we provide we're committed to raising awareness of dementia by informing people and asking them to think differently about it.

During Dementia Awareness Week in Scotland (3 to 9 June 2013) we launched our public dementia awareness programme http://www.homeinstead.co.uk/edinburgh/1959.do and collaborated with local band Einstein's Wardrobe to launch a charity single in aid of Alzheimer Scotland called 'Picture on the Mantlepiece' which reflects life from the perspective of a person with dementia.  You can find out how to listen to and download the song from our website http://www.homeinstead.co.uk/edinburgh/2199.do.
