Plan B for Wales: the core economy and alternative visions

  • Public Meeting: October 25th, 7:30pm, Big Sleep Hotel, Cardiff
    organised by Compass
  • Speakers include: The Guardian's John Harris, Mark Drakeford, Labour AM and Leanne Wood, Plaid AM.

Compass’ Plan B reports set out a vision of an alternative political economy that includes short term emergency measures like reversing cuts to get the economy moving again, a Green New Deal and creating state Investment Banks to lever investment in low carbon sectors such as housing, transport and renewable energy.

Plan B is also about outlining the long term economic foundations for a good society. The reports
emphasise the importance of the ‘core economy’ of families and outlines policies for a rebalancing of values.
Come and explore how we can use these, and other ideas, in Wales right now? What measures can we take in Wales, using the space devolution gives us building on measures available to local authorities and opportunities for co-operation between different organisations?
