A network for co-production practitioners

Co-production Conference in Birmingham

You are all invited to a Co-Production Conference on Thursday 24th October 2013, hosted by INLOGOV, LARIA and Governance International.

The central issue for the day will be: What is the
evidence on when and how co-production can be a cost-effective solution for local government services? The questions that will be explored in particular include:

  • To what extent can public service co-production reduce demand on services through more prevention?
  • To what extent can peer support models substitute support by professionals?
  • How can ICT solutions and social media facilitate co-production (e.g. by connecting local people) and reduce transaction costs of co-production?
  • Is it possible to monetarise the value of intangible outcomes such as sustainable and resilient communities?
  • How much training and support do staff and citizens need to become effective co-producers?
