Progress on co-production approaches in service delivery in other councils.

I am looking for any progress on co-production approaches in service delivery in other councils. E.g. good practice/case studies as part of implementation plans for positive change. (New ways of working)

In Kirklees we have agreed a mandate for change across Communities & Wellbeing services. i.e. an action plan to transform the market and relationships between staff and service users.

• Self-assessments carried out across key service areas which showed a mixed position of where we are now. (Self-assessment toolkit developed with nef)

 

• Beginning to build co-production in at an early stage in contracting processes. For example co-production principles were built into the specification and the evaluation for a recent tender to facilitate the development of micro-social enterprise, ULO’s and timebanking in the district. The intention is (eventually) to rewrite all the service specs for mental health to build this in and this has been trialled with the new advocacy specification with good results.

 

• Kirklees group attended Y & H JIP leadership co-production training by In Control and Inclusion North.
• Building culture change into mainstream training and awareness – to empower staff - enabling them to become facilitators and catalysts
