Funding for Local Authorities seeking to transform their services

This new fund might be of interest to those of you seeking to get more co-production through commissioning..................

Delivering Differently is helping local authorities to transform their services through the use of new delivery models such as mutuals and voluntary organisations.

Delivering Differently is a joint programme between the Cabinet Office, the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE).

At the heart of the programme is the Delivering Differently Challenge, which will provide 10 authorities with up to £100,000 of support to spearhead transformative projects. This includes bespoke professional support to enable them to undertake a strategic review of all available options, guidance from an expert panel and opportunities to network and share their experiences with other Challenge authorities.

Applicants should be aiming to implement a new delivery model in the next 2 years, and each should set out in their expression of interest form:

  • the drivers for seeking to introduce a new model for the service in question
  • the outcomes they wish to achieve
  • their intentions for engaging with staff or other organisations from the public, private and VCSE sectors
