In the dim and distant past I was a community activist within the community of Ferguslie Park in Paisley where I grew up. I went to University of Glasgow as a mature student to formalise my learning and graduated with an MA (Social Sciences)I went on to do another 2 Post graduate courses in Community Education and one in Health Education & Health promotion. I have completed my formal learning by gaining an MSc in Public Health 2 years ago...(dont have the energy to do a doctorate) In my work career, I have a background in Community Development working in the Voluntary sector for many years before joining the NHS 10 years ago. I have a passion for community work in relation to health inequalities and I have taken my experience forward in my work within the NHS where I always adopt community development principle within my practice.
