Trek Emonda Headset Replacement Advice Post by saladfunky » Mon May 29, 2017 8:20 pm Hi All, I will need to change the lower bearing on my Trek Emonda SL soon and the upper bearing in the future I am sure. Good review but everything i read about the Trek Emonda says it's the lightest bike in their price range. But that's so not true, Canyon, Rose and many other brands have much better weight for the price. For example:-Emonda S6 is about €2200, size 56 cm: 8,83kg.-Canyon Ultimate AL SLX 9.0 SL, €1999 size 56cm: 6.95kg. Trek state the new Emonda SL frame weights 1,091g, with the disc version at 1,149g. The SL fork is the same superlight offering as found on the SLR bikes, however, cheaper Emonda SL 5 options will feature a heavier fork, adding just over 100g. My 2016 Emonda SL6 with approx. 4500 miles (i'm 6' x 180lbs) has developed a problem and I think Trek has agreed to warranty it, although I don't have a new frame in hand yet. The problem is a small crack growing around the drive side of the BB. After putting nearly 1500km in the saddle on the Trek Emonda SL6 I'm finally getting around to writing a review of it. When Trek launched the Emonda in 2014, just a few days before the Tour de France kicked off in Yorkshire, its range topping Trek Emonda SLR upped the ante in the weight race for production road The new Emonda SLR fork weighs just 313g, with the disc version at 350g. Trek has achieved this by using a new 700 Series OCLV Carbon lay-up (Emonda SLR only) and by finely analyzing its use in a frame size specific approach (more on this later), something that is said to provide best-in-class stiffness to weight ratio. 2.
