A network for co-production practitioners

Dear all,

These are the collated outcomes of the second Wales Co-Production Network Meeting (11/12/2012) - regarding the aims and role of the Co-Wales Production Network:

Theory into practice, words into actions

  • Working groups to devise solutions to problems faced by the co-pro community e.g. how to sell to statutory sector – how to communicate co-pro message
  • Provide guidance on co-pro especially putting theory into practice
  • Support the network through evidence base
  • Value anectdotal evidence
  • Social Capital: give hope to all and see everyone as being in a positive way

Lobbying, Campaigning, Policy: influencing change

  • Persuade professionals of co-pro values
  • Raise awareness of and promote co-production in LA’s, NHS and other bodies in the statutory sector
  • Push forward the agenda
  • Establish a definition of co-production and the set of principles in order to sell the message
  • Sell it – raise the profile and awareness of co-pro
  • Influence public policy to address inequalities in Wales
  • Promote societal justice

Connect, Inspire and Motivate

  • Hold regular meetings to share ideas, knowledge and create partnership working
  • Sustain each other's enthusiasm and energy (motivation and best practice)
  • Inspire ideas and change communities and the lives of people in them
  • Celebrate the best schemes so that they can be replicated
  • Communication : Share and promote examples of best practice
  • Help provide resources to other groups
