Transforming Communities by Engaging the Many:By working to develop a new two-way street between people and services, public and community agencies have the potential to re-energise their purpose as a vehicle for public good. A new time credit approach has emerged in recent years, whereby service-users and people in communities are invited to contribute, based on their skills and interests and are thanked for their contribution with access to community services, venues and leisure activities. It has become an impressive catalyst in engaging the many, and with increased engagement has come community transformation and an imaginative re-engineering of public services.
