Could a Sharing Economy provide the answers to our current, global crises?
If it can, how can we develop the idea and what are the practical steps we can take to achieve this aim?
The Sharing Economy: An Innovation Workshop
The building of a sustainable economy that serves people and planet is probably the most important task of our time. The Sharing Economy is an emerging idea bringing together a variety of themes and threads around a distributed economy. Themes include: Collaborative Consumption, Shared Value, Sharing Sector, The Mesh, Generation WE, Sharing as a Modality of Economic Production (Co-Production), Co-Creation, growth in relation to development, community growth; growth in the sharing of resources; exponential growth as a contradiction; ecological economics, community growth, Cinderella Economy, crowdfunding, disruptive innovation, distributed economy, Third Industrial Revolution, distributed energy, peer2peer energy production, Sharing Revolution, Civic Economy, Macrowikinomics, access based economy, swap trading, peer2peer employment.
By bringing together these themes and ideas as part of a narrative: The Sharing Economy, we can create a new, compelling, sustainable economic vision for our world. The People Who Share and The Finance Innovation Lab are driving a piece of work to develop this concept of the Sharing Economy.
Supported by the Big Lottery Fund, ICAEW and the RSA, this project will bring together leading thinkers, economists, social entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders and sociologists to consider some important questions.
To kick start this process, an innovation workshop will be held on December 8th 2011 from 9.30-1.30pm at Body & Soul
