Background to your work: I have worked on transformative learning across and between different sectors, disciplines and contexts for about fifteen years. I continue to experiment with bringing together practice and insight from community development, popular education, human ecology, action research, transformative learning, organisational learning ... in service of creating the conditions for the emergence of more resilient, sustainable communities of place. Before my current working convening a working group on 'asset based approaches to workforce development' across the public sector in Scotland, I worked developing a Community of Practice with Carnegie UK Trust for five years. In 2011 I published (with over forty contributoes) a book called 'Exploring Community Resilience' (www.bit.ly/comresilience-download).
