A forum for discussing how to most effectively bring together health professionals with service users to develop and deliver services connected to emerging NHS structures. By health professionals I include ; health accademics and community health professionals as well as GP's and other NHS staff.
I would also like this group to link discussion to how to effectively link evaluation and impact assessment to the development and delivery of co-produced services.
Hi everyone. I am a first year PhD student interested in patient engagement in healthcare improvement. I am new to the literature on co-production and wondered if anyone was aware of frameworks, tools, literature or any work being undertaken which looks at 'co-production' within exisiting service provisions and how to measure/evaluate this in a healthcare context.

I suggest that unless you are involved with work on a very large scale then the most appropriate evaluation frame work is probably Social Return On Investment. This is largely because the New Economics Foundation have been very involved in both coproduction and SROI. SROI also fits well with PRINCE2 project management methodology. They both apply a stakeholder engagement methodology with also relates well with the coproduction approach. You may find this useful - http://www.neweconomics.org/projects/social-return-investment
